In this post I'm going to mention what I did until a few days after my arrival. On the day after I came to Canada (23. July), I basically walked around in downtown Toronto with my cousin Tiina. I went to Chinatown, which was really interesting. I bought some bubble tea there, I don't see any obvious reason why it's called tea, sure doesn't taste like it. It's some kind of cold drink with pieces of jelly sitting in it. I ate lunch at the Eaton centre, at KFC, because I missed that place. I didn't do much in town, just walked around, I also saw a lot of squirrels in parks. Later on I went to the Beaches Jazz Festival with my other cousin Maarika and my aunt Viive. There were different bands playing on the streets, some of them were quite good.
On the next day I went to Parry Sound (with Tiina and Robert), a district north of Toronto, it was about a two and a half hour drive there. I stayed in a cottage belonging to Robert's mother and brother. It was next to a lake, and I guess it was that lake which was the star of my stay there. I got to ride on a motorboat, and drive both a canoe and a Sea-Doo. I tried water skiing for the first time in my life. Apparently I did well for a first time. It was kind of fun, but I kept swallowing water every time I fell. Another fun activity was water tubing. It's similar to water skiing, but instead of skis you have an inflatable tube. You have to just hold on tight. I did that a lot, it was really exciting. At times it felt like I was being dragged by a car on a highway, because at a certain speed the water seemed nearly solid.
On the second day in Parry Sound I visited a little town of the same name. I think I got a good overview of the place (only 6000 people live there), it was a quiet and humble town.
Anyway, I left Parry Sound and came back to Toronto on the evening of the 26. July.
Robert and me canoeing.
The lake (fake ducks, by the way)
Me and Tiina by the coast of the Georgian Bay
It was very rocky there
I got to drive this thing (the Sea-Doo)
